Saturday racing switched to afternoons for remainder of August

Saturday night greyhound racing at Oxford Stadium will be paused through the remainder of August with fixtures now scheduled in the afternoon for the following three weekends.

Affected fixtures include Saturday, August 12, August 19 and August 26. All existing ticket buyers, including general admission and hospitality, will be entitled to a full refund.

Racing will instead begin at 1.57pm with evening racing due to return on Saturday, September 2, when the stadium celebrates the first anniversary of greyhound racing’s return to the Cowley venue. The inaugural Sandy Lane Maiden Derby will start on September 2, with eight trial stakes happening on the afternoon of August 26.

The decision has been made to ensure the stadium and its sister venues – Towcester, Henlow and Suffolk Downs – can fulfil contracted fixtures which are required to be completed.

Monday evening, Tuesday morning and Friday evening fixtures remain unaffected. This includes our Bank Holiday Monday meeting on August 28 where everyone is eligible for free admission and those who book online receive a free drink on arrival.

Gates open on Bank Holiday Monday at 4pm with racing starting at 6.17pm.
