A recruitment drive has been launched by Oxford Stadium to fill scores of jobs ahead of the multi-purpose venue’s highly anticipated reopening this spring.
In a big boost to the events industry, following the impact of the pandemic, and the local economy, Oxford Stadium has announced a wide variety of jobs.
Full and part-time staff are actively being recruited to support the historic venue and its regeneration, which will see it become a fully functional seven-day-a-week community hub.
Vacant roles include working in hospitality, admission and customer experience while chefs and people to operate Tote betting terminals on race nights are also being hired. The stadium is also hiring a commercial executive, a food and beverage manager, a sports bar manager, a chef de partie and sous chef. All applicants should have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and be customer focused.
Lisa Hust, Commercial Operations Manager, said: “The reopening of Oxford Stadium has really captured the imagination of people locally and nationally. With our launch date getting closer, we are pleased to be creating scores of jobs which will all play an essential role in our successful launch.
“The volume of vacancies we are filling demonstrates the huge demand Oxford Stadium will generate for sports fixtures, events, conferences and community programmes.
“We are looking for bright and friendly individuals who share our passion in delivering the best customer experience for our visitors and want to be part of this unique and special journey.”
Oxford Stadium’s facilities will include a grandstand restaurant, executive suites, a sports bar and wellbeing centre.
Two new members of staff will be recruited to work in the commercial department with a focus on hospitality, marketing, events and ticketing.
Successful applicants for the food and beverage and sports bar manager vacancies will be required to recruit, train and manage staff while overseeing all aspects of Oxford Stadium’s revamped facilities.
Lisa added: “Oxford Stadium is committed to offering opportunities to local people from all backgrounds as part of our ambition to become a leading community venue where everyone is welcome.
“Our vacancies support roles for individuals at all stages of their careers including areas of management, progression and jobs suitable for people starting their working life.
“We look forward to hearing from applicants with a view to having most roles filled by the end of March.”
A full list of job opportunities at Oxford Stadium will be available soon via our website. All applicants for bar and betting staff must be aged 18 or over and waiting staff 16 or over.
