The restoration of Oxford Stadium’s executive suites has been completed as the venue continues its exciting transformation.
The venue shared an exclusive first look behind the scenes to showcase the stylish new executive suites which have gone from derelict to delectable following its revamp. The three trackside suites will be the centre piece of the Oxford Stadium’s hospitality and events space.
The suites have undergone an extensive refurbishment to bring them up to date, including reflooring, painting and a new heating and air conditioning system. Each suite has capacity to host 24 guests for greyhound racing and speedway meetings and includes its own bar area where food, drink and additional refreshments will be provided.
The space will also be available to hire for small to medium sized events and conferences during the daytime with sliding doors enabling visitors to lengthen or shorten the area they host in.
Lisa Hust, Commercial Operations Manager at Oxford Stadium, said the venue’s executive suites will provide visitors with the ultimate VIP race night experience.
“After many months of hard work, the interior development of Oxford Stadium is starting to take shape,” said Lisa. “Our executive suites have been restored to their former glory and are ready to host guests on race nights in addition to events and conferences.
“Following almost a decade of neglect, our suites have been modernised and will provide visitors with the ultimate track side hospitality and viewing experience. The demand we have received for bookings has been overwhelming and is testament to the interest and buzz the reopening of Oxford Stadium has generated locally. We’ll be revealing more information soon concerning bookings ahead of our launch in the spring.”
Elsewhere, work continues to bring the stadium’s regeneration to life and deliver facilities including a grandstand restaurant, leisure hub, sports bar and community café.
A recruitment campaign will be launched soon with the creation of more than 100 jobs and ticketing information for speedway will be available in the coming weeks via the venue’s new website.
Outside, terraces have been cleared and cleaned of debris and waste built up over the last 10 years. A new hare rail, traps and inside railing has also been installed to the greyhound track. Foundations for the stadium’s new speedway pits bay have been laid and the track has been reduced in size to accommodate better racing.
“Six months ago, Oxford Stadium resembled an overgrown field,” added Lisa. “Although parts of the interior remained in remarkably good condition, most areas were derelict and required serious renovation.
“The hard work of everyone on site in the past few months is now bringing the venue to life again. We’d like to thank everyone who has enquired about progress and look forward to welcoming you through our doors once again very soon.”
