Oxford Stadium has released the following statement after an incident involving Low Pressure in the second Semi Final of the bet365 Hunt Cup.
An Oxford Stadium spokesperson said: “With immediate effect, the starting mechanisms used to operate our sprint and stayers races will be removed and no longer used.
“Next week’s £10,000 bet365 Hunt Cup final will take place as planned using tried and tested traps which will be transferred from our sister venue Henlow.
“In the meantime, all 253m and 650m races and trials will be suspended.
“The relaunch of Oxford Stadium has been a significant project to undertake, requiring major investment and refurbishment. However, we accept incidents of last night’s kind can continue no longer.
“After an immediate veterinary inspection, we can confirm Low Pressure returned to the paddock in good health.”
